Hindustan Motors is an iconic brand in Indian automotive history and Ambassador was a legendary sedan. The car was once a popular choice among politicians, government officials and even the rich. Over the years, when modern cars took over the Indian market, demand for Ambassador came down and the journey finally came to an end in 2014. Even today, there are several car collectors who have well-maintained examples of Ambassador sedans with them. Many people even modified or customised them to make it more easier to live with. Here we have one such HM Ambassador that has been beautifully customised on the inside and outside.
The video has been uploaded by SIKAND CAR on their YouTube channel. In this video, vlogger talks about all the modifications that have been made to the car. The whole car has been repainted in pearl white shade which was a popular colour of the sedan. At the front, the chrome grille on the car has been completely blacked out and a white slat runs through the grille.
The front bumper on the Ambassador has also been painted in body colour for an even look. The stock halogen headlamps on the sedan have been replaced. There are still round units but they get projector LED lights in them. The LED DRLs gets a U-shape and they are integrated inside the headlamps. The turn indicators are placed below the headlamp cluster. The bonnet gets blind spot mirrors and the ORVMs are all given a chrome finish. Coming to the side profile, the car does not get the stock steel rims anymore. The car now uses 16 inch aftermarket alloy wheels. The wheels are slightly wider than what they used to come from the factory.
Other than this, no other changes have been made to the side profile of the car. The tail gates are original units that were used on Ambassador. The rear bumper is again painted in body colour and gets a reverse parking camera. The interior of the car has been customised completely. The cabin still retains the retro look but it now gets beige shade which adds a premium touch to it. The car gets all the original switches, instrument cluster and dashboard. Some new additions can also be seen in the car like a rear AC vent and an aftermarket touchscreen infotainment system.
The steering wheel is all original but, it is now finished in beige shade. The other plastic panels on the dashboard, instrument cluster and door pad get a brown shade which looks like wooden panel inserts. The seats are wrapped leather material which is again in beige colour. The seat covers are custom made unit and fit and finish of the seat cover looks good. The roof liner also has been changed and the car gets all four power windows. The switches to the power windows are placed on the center console. The speaker system on this Ambassador has been upgraded as well. Overall, the car looks beautiful with modified exterior and customised interior.
